On Thursday 8th October members of Foyle Search and Rescue attended the National Finals of the Lloyds Bank Charity Achievement Awards at Banking Hall, the historic London Headquarters of Lloyds Bank, as part of the first ever awards organised by the Foundation to celebrate its 30th anniversary. During Mental Health Week Oct 5th to 11th- Foyle Search & Rescue Education & Media Volunteers will undertake Suicide and Awareness Talks to various groups both in Co Donegal at there Base at Prehen and in local Schools. On the 16th of July The Lloyds Bank Foundation announced that six charities from Northern Ireland were shortlisted for the UK Final of the Charity Achievement Awards. Foyle Search and Rescue was set up in 1993 in response to the number of lives lost to the river Foyle. During 2014 its volunteers gave 10,000+ of hours of unpaid service to the local community. During this period Foyle Search and Rescue were involved in a total of 191 incidents. Volunteers rescued 18 people
