Foyle Search and Rescue were tasked by police at 1145 to reports of a male in the river. We worked along with NIFRS, PSNI and NIAS in a controlled search of the area where the male was last seen. A Coastguard helicopter from Prestwick in Scotland was also called to assist with the search. FSR

Foyle Search & Rescue are pleased to have been recognised by the Department for Transport in the latest round of the Inshore & Inland Rescue Boat Grant Funding Scheme. Foyle Search and Rescue was set up in 1993 in response to the number of lives lost to the River Foyle. During 2016 its volunteers gave 14,000+ of hours of unpaid service to the local community. During this period Foyle Search and Rescue were involved in a total of 232 incidents which is up 50.64
